Ancestral Skills | Weaving circle 5-day
Weaving is an ancestral skill that connects. In this five-day course spread over six months, we delve into the magical ancient crafts of spinning, natural dyeing, ribbon weaving, and felting. We'll create a personalized bundle of homemade spindles, distaffs, and other tools to learn how to use. Often outdoors around a fire, accompanied by folklore and mythological stories, we embark on a creative journey through nature and history, rediscovering the customs of our ancestors.
Day 1 - We delve into the prehistory and mythology of our oldest craft—threadmaking. We'll make our own spindle and spindles from wood and clay baked in a prehistoric way over an open fire.
Day 2 - Through stories and practical exercises, we'll learn to spin and make thread from wool and plant fibers in an ancient way.
Day 3 - We'll naturally dye our own spun wool in a variety of colors using local, wild plants and trees over an open fire.
Day 4 - We'll learn band weaving by making our own magical band.
Day 5 - We'll learn the ancient craft of felting and create a pouch in which we'll bundle all our homemade, magical tools.

Own bundle
The stories and examples guide us in making our own portable tools in an original way, with which we also learn to work – for example, spinning with a spindle carved with our own hands and baked in the fire.
Rewilding
These ancient crafts connect you not only directly with your ancestors but also with nature, which provides you with inspiration, space, and materials. We spend part of our days working outdoors, around the fire, using local, natural materials.
Included
All necessary materials, lunch (cooked over the fire), coffee, and tea are included on each course day. You’ll also receive a wooden weaving comb and bobbin set, which you can use to learn band weaving and add to your bundle.
