Ancestral Skills | Weaving Circle
Weaving is an ancestral skill that connects. In this one-day course, we'll use a band comb to weave a band: an ornate belt made from plant and animal fibers, which has had both magical and incredibly practical uses since time immemorial. Through historical and mythological stories, you'll learn about the essential discovery and application of thread—and its interweaving. You'll learn to create your own pattern in an accessible way using different colors, including natural pigments. We'll work primarily outdoors and in a circle. All tools are provided. The workshop includes lunch, tea, and the necessary wool.

Mythology & Magical Textiles
You’ll learn about the ritual and magical aspects of wool, spinning, and weaving, and the mythological stories surrounding these practices. This is an introduction to a personal application of magical textiles.
What you get
We’ll be busy from morning until late afternoon! All the wool and supplies are provided: you can choose from a variety of (often naturally dyed) colors. Lunch, tea, and coffee are also provided!
